Elinore "Ellie" Walker
Where do I begin? This woman is a neurotic, alcoholic, drugged-out, socially elite, spoiled, self-centered, romance novelist and nymphomaniac. Originally from the "wrong side of the tracks", Ellie scratched her way to the top writing trashy --- yet somehow popular --- best selling romance novels under the publishing house owned by her best friend from college, Dott Emerson.
Hopelessly dependent on Dott for emotional support, Ellie lives her entire life in the fast lane. Social status and notoriety is very important to her. She also seems to have no limits as to what she will do to get it. Don't put it past her to make an embarrassing scene in a restaurant ---- basically oblivious to anyone besides herself (except maybe for a handsome waiter).
Any attention is positive attention to Ellie. She even goes as far as calling in anonymous outlandish stories about herself to get her name in the tabloids. Public scenes though are still her specialty ---- the more dramatic and theatrical the better. She's been known to have tantrums or screaming confrontations with rivals just about anywhere, including the best restaurants and shops.
Then of course there is Ellie's never-satisfied libido. The woman is insatiable! And no man is off limits --- providing of course she finds him to her liking. She'll come on to anything in pants, and perform with no sexual inhibitions.
Following a public shouting match with nemesis Val --- she even writes her phone number right across a waiter's jacket and tells him it's her private line. One of the objects of her lust is Dott's teenage son, Brendan. She is forever making plays for the seventeen year old --- and he is forever rebuffing her with his defamatory remarks. This doesn't stop her from trying, though any stud in her presence will completely divert her attention and train of thought. She even hires a studly bodyguard --- the sheekest in latest accessories --- hoping to get some private attention.
Dott and Ellie have a bizarre co-dependent relationship that has spanned many years. Though much more in touch with reality than Ellie, Dott shares with her a bond that includes mutual shallowness, gossip sessions, and shopping sprees. They are always there for each other --- especially when Ellie gets out of hand and Dott needs to keep her in line.
Ellie is also a fashion statement in her own right. Her original designer outfits are always eye-popping. She loves big hair and hats, plus prides herself on her stunning appearance at all times (not counting when she is passed-out somewhere!).
