31. Are any Flintstones episodes available to purchase?
Sporting a running time of 737 minutes, Warner provides us with English, French, and Spanish soundtracks so we can listen to Fred bellow in a variety of languages. His shouts for Wilma are heard in Mono, though, as it was originally broadcast. And, although the menu formats to widescreen on a wide TV, you'll be pleased to know that Warner hasn't stoned the original picture format of the actual cartoon: it's still 4x3, as always. Subtitles are also present in this collection for all three languages, plus close-captioning for the hearing impaired. The first season was released on March 16, 2004, and watch for subsequent seasons in the coming months. Years ago, Turner Home Entertainment also released a number of episodes on tape, grouping them thematically rather than chronologically. Additionally, a tape titled "The Way Things Work" documents the stone-age technology of the Flintstones universe. Columbia House makes the entire original series available on tape to club members. These episodes are uncut, but do not feature the laugh track. A laserdisc box set is available, containing the first 14 episodes and other material. If none of these methods of obtaining videos suits you, check out your local video store. I have been able to obtain several by purchasing them from their "previously viewed" bin. Some stores will also order in videos for you. Personally, I have found Block Buster Video to be quite helpful. Also, if you wish to trade videos, check out Wingnut's Toon Trading.
